This pizza was absolutely amazing. I love the charcoal crust. But the big question here is: have you ever tried it?

Ingredients

  • 200g durum wheat flour

  • 400g all-purpose flour

  • 5g charcoal powder

  • 10g salt

  • 15g yeast

  • 330ml warm water*

  • 10g brown sugar

  • 15ml olive oil

  • 800ml homemade tomato sauce

  • 70g smoked paprika cheese, vegan cheese (Happy Cashew)

  • 200g cherry tomatoes

  • 30g capers

  • 50g zucchini

  • 100g artichokes hearts

Method

  1. Mix in a big bowl flours, salt and charcoal;

  2. Mix in a small bowl warm water, yeast, sugarcane and olive oil;

  3. Pour into flour mixture and stir until uniform;

  4. Tip onto a floured surface, knead until smooth for 10 minutes;

  5. Place the dough in a lightly floured bowl and cover for 2-3h;

  6. Divide the dough into 7 balls;

  7. On a floured surface flatten dough balls and stretch them out into rounds;

  8. Place them on a baking tray with parchment paper;

  9. Spread tomato sauce and add the toppings;

  10. Heat oven to 220°C, bake for 30 min.

Notes

* It doesn’t have to be too warm otherwise you’ll kill the yeast.
